I was down and feeling worthless
felt all I did was wrong
though I tried I never measured up
I felt I didn't belong
even though I tried to be the best
it wasn't good enough
my pride was hurt I felt ashamed
each waking hour was tough
But I'm proud to be a Woman today
I have a voice and make the choice
to live a better way
each day I get stronger

now the one I answer to is me
I found a place of comfort
it really changed my life
it gave me time to realize
I'm not just someones wife
staying together for the children
can't be an excuse
there's no need surviving with abuse
